Active Media Distribution was formed in July 2003 by Nigel Reveler and Colin Jennings.
Reveler had previously been a board member of Polydor, responsible for sales of the likes of The Who and The Bee Gees. Later, he became Managing Director of Grapevine Distribution, representing artists such as Emmylou Harris, Mary Black, Christy Moore, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Prince and Sharon Shannon.
With the purchase of Grapevine by the RMG Group he became Managing Director of RMG Distribution and, while carrying on the sales for many of the above, also looked after Daniel O’Donnell, Charlie Landsborough and the rest of the Ritz catalogue.
In 2003, he set up Active with Colin Jennings. Jennings started his career as a musician singing with the now legendary Harvest label through EMI. He carried on songwriting and producing activities throughout the 80s and early 90s producing and writing for artists as diverse as The Hollies to Salsoul Orchestra.
In 1994 he joined Reveler at Grapevine to pursue his career in sales and marketing. Success came with the likes of Chaka Demus and Pliers and Prince (Most Beautiful Girl in the World – his only UK No.1) plus having the pleasure of working with Mary Black, Steve Earle, LeAnn Rimes and Emmylou Harris. He followed Reveler to RMG.
